  • ¼ tsp ground cloves
  • ⅛ tsp ground black pepper
  • 150 g unsalted butter
  • 160 g cream cheese
  • 220 g icing sugar
  • Orange food color
  • Pumpkin seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine sugars and vanilla; add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Stir in oil and pumpkin.
  3. In another bowl, whisk flour with baking powder, baking soda, and spices.
  4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into the pan and bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow cooling before preparing frosting by beating butter with brown sugar and cream cheese; add icing sugar gradually.
  7. Frost the cooled cake and garnish with pumpkin seeds if desired.
