  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons warm water
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese
  • Marinara sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water; let sit until foamy.
  2. Add salt, oil, and two cups of flour; mix well. Gradually add remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth, then place it in a greased bowl. Cover and let rise for one hour.
  4. Punch down the dough, divide into 16 pieces, and shape each into a bone by rolling and cutting as directed.
  5. Let shaped breadsticks rise again on a greased baking sheet for another 45 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 425°F during the last few minutes of rising.
  7. Bake for 12–14 minutes until golden brown. Brush with melted butter, garlic salt, and parmesan cheese before serving.
